30-Day Challenge

February is American Heart Month. To celebrate the month we are hosting the 30-Day Heart Health Challenge. The 30-Day Heart Health Challenge is a wellness program geared toward building healthy habits that will benefit your heart. The Challenge starts on February 14, 2011 and ends March 15, 2011. We offer both an Online and Paper Version, so everyone can participate!

 

BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN THE 30-DAY CHALLENGE:Please review and sign the Waiver and Release of Liability.

 

Online Version
Join the Midwest Region online at SparkPeople.com. SparkPeople is a free online community that is easy to join and navigate. It utilizes teams, blogs, journaling of fitness and nutrition, articles, and several other mediums to promote heart healthy lifestyles and weight-loss. Progress is tracked by receiving SparkPoints for tracking your healthy actives. Additional or “bonus” points are also available. Please refer to the reference sheet below. You can send me your “bonus points” via Spark mail. .

1. Click on Team Link above
2. Click on "Join Team"
3. Click on "Join Now for Free" (upper right screen)
4.  Create username and password and other requested account details
5.  Choose "Healthier Lifestyle without Choosing a Weight Loss Goal"
6. On the next screen, select "skip this step" (lower right screen)
7. Select "Community" from orange tool bar area and from there select "Sparks teams" and then select "My Sparks teams" and at this point you should see LiUNA logo. Click on the logo. 
8. Email us your name and SparkPeople username so we can enter you to win prizes at mrlhsf@aol.com!

Online Version
Once you have joined the LiUNA Spark Team, click on this link to download the instructions and how to earn extra bonus points.

Paper Version
For those who do not wish to use a computer, a paper version of the 100-Day Challenge is available. It has a similar point system and is just as easy to use as the online version. Just be sure to fax your point totals to the Midwest Region Laborers' Health and Safety Fund at 217-522-6588 or mail to:
